Why People Often Get Lost in Hospitals

Each building we try to navigate is a little bit different, and THAT is what makes wayfinding challenging - right? Yes, in part. But that isn’t the full picture, especially with wayfinding in hospitals. In a hospital setting, we find that there are additional challenges making it universally difficult to find your way - more difficult than in other indoor settings.

Think about it. Have you gotten lost in a hospital? Of course. We all have. But have you ever considered the intricacies behind why it was so tough to find your way? Maybe it’s time we take a closer look - understanding the “why?could very well unlock the solution to the problem.

Ralph Michels, CEO & Founder of Eyedog, takes a deep dive into the elements that make hospital navigation uniquely challenging. It’s his understanding of these difficulties that led him to create Eyedog - a digital wayfinding solution that works.

Read his article, “Analysis: why is it that people get lost in hospitals all the time?” to learn more about the challenges making hospital navigation so difficult.
